Meet The Much In Love Couple: Amil and Pragya

Amil and Pragya knew each other since they were teenagers through common friends once or twice. However, they reconnected when Amil’s mother saw Pragya’s profile on Facebook and decided to reach out to Pragya.  Subsequently, Amil sent her a follow request on Instagram. Yes! These days the love stories start over social media and turn into a lifetime of love and happiness. That is exactly what happened in this case. Amil asked Pragya if she is ready to get married or not and later the two talked for two months and finally decided to meet each other formally through their parents. Seems like a filmy story isn’t it? The two felt it was a nice idea to meet each other before a few times and get to know each other better. When asked Pragya about the entire situation this is what she said, “It was way more fun because we even sneaked out a couple of times even before anything was turning serious. We just wanted to know each other before our families considered it on a serious note! our story isn’t any Romeo Juliet fantasy! It’s simple, exactly how we wanted it to be.” Talking about their courtship period,  Pragya said, “Amil has always been full of surprises. His gestures always speak louder than his words. The most special thing about our courtship turned out to be when he flew to India every month just to be with me despite his business being back in the Netherlands.”
The Extravagant Destination Wedding With Marathon Pre Wedding Festivities

The two had an extravagant wedding in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Palace Of The Golden Horses and it was a fairytale affair. This venue is known for hosting many guests like Queen Elizabeth and the late Nelson Mandela. Also, it is a venue known for hosting many international events. The couple had lavish pre wedding ceremonies like haldi, mehendi, sangeet and even a sufi night. Talking about the best moments of the wedding, Pragya says, “The best part of the wedding was haldi which turned out to be Holi and the second one was my bridal entry where I entered with not just my brothers but also my sisters.”

She shared some of the funny incidents from the wedding including the Tug of war they had at haldi and when they were roasting their pandit at the time of pheres.

Discussing about the pre wedding ceremonies the bride said it started with Haldi ceremony where both of them wore yellow and their outfits were self designed. The same day was sufi night, where the couple were entertained by the band Indie Routes.

It was a muslim touch added to this ceremony, people mainly wore dark colours with lots of embroidery and muslim dressing style and evening gowns. For the sangeet ceremony couple opted for green outfits and coordinated each other well.  And, for the wedding our pretty bride Pragya opted for a maroon lehenga with golden embroidery whereas, Amil wore a golden bandhgala on the wedding day.
Wedding Planning:

This grand wedding was totally planned by the couple themselves with a little assistance of decor from Aspra events in Kuala Lumpur. And, beautifully captured by - Weddings by Knotty Days, for which Pragya said, “They Are The Best In The Business”.

Pragya’s makeup and hair was done by Pooja Okheda and Sanjana and for them she says, “Pooja has gained a special place in my heart. I’ve never come across an artist so well in her field and so polite in her attitude towards her client. She’s been a complete darling to me during the wedding and she took inputs from me as to how I wanted my looks.
Sanjana knows very well as to what she’s doing. She makes sure that you like your hair and is even polite enough to change what you don’t like.”

But, our favorite was when we learnt the couple designed their outfits for all their wedding ceremonies. Quite surprising isn’t it? But, this couple is a true inspiration for wedding outfits.

Bridal Tips :
 Destination Wedding
Dear bride also shared some valuable tips that brides- to- be must keep in mind:
  1. To Avoid oily and junk food during your pre wedding weeks. They may result in unwanted acne.
  2. Select your artist only when you have 100% faith in them.
  3. Remember not to lose patience during wedding ceremonies. Since you’re the bride, everyone will want a picture with you or a drink with you. Make sure you know how to politely treat them since they are your family.
